Funeral services for Leatha May Beck, 81, of Caldwell, are set for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, with Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 15, 2012, also at the funeral home. Mrs. Beck passed away on October 13, 2012 in College Station, Texas. Leatha was born April 4, 1931 to L. C. Todd and Lonnie May (Sharp) Todd in McCory, Arkansas. Leatha is survived by her son, Benard Lee Watkins of Hearne, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Gene and Dennis Velasquez of Bryan, Linda and Joe Willie Maresh of Caldwell; two brothers, L. C. Todd, Jr., and Mack Todd; sisters. Pauline Brown and Velma Todd; grandchildren, Candace Jones, Christopher Smith, Jason Watkins, Andrew Watkins, Lillia Velasquez, Joseph Alan Smith; great grandchildren, Angel Jones, Destiny Jones, Cash Watkins, Westin Watkins, Aspen Watkins, and Tyson Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oneil Beck; two brothers, two sisters, son, Ricky Joe Smith, and daughter, Joyce Ann Hammond. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of Caldwell.
